HELLO SPAIN, hello Germany !?

... so it was Life Ball which Vienna proudly hosted for the 20th time this past weekend, and a great many celebrities from all over the (fashion and lifestyle) world were in town. Hooray, hooray. Among the event's super star attendees was Karl Lagerfeld's very own, uhm, creature?, Baptiste Giabiconi (you may have guessed I'm not an excessively big fan...) and we are actually looking at a minor Whitney Houston scenario: Mrs Houston rather famously addressed her audience before starting a concert in Lisbon with a merry "HELLO, SPAIN!" - an incident that probably didn't turn her into the Portuguese people's number one favourite singer. So what about Baptiste? Since he has his very own and apparently rather "personal" Twitter feed (a thing to avoid for some?), he thanked all those "German and European journalists" that had welcomed him as worthy ambassador of contemporary France. Hold on... German? Doesn't that instil just the slightest of doubts that Baptiste might be a little confused when pondering over the exact whereabouts of Vienna, Austria. I mean, there is a French town called "Vienne" (popular stopover for Austrian interrail travellers, I am told ...), but Germany? Do rethink your tweet, Baptiste, won't you do us the favour? ...

... alors oui, Life Ball, pour la vingtième fois, à Vienne, en Autriche, la boum, la fête, la teuf, le tout, l'émotion, l'euphorie, la panoplie de vedettes, internationales, mondiales même. Parmi toutes ces stars, Baptiste Giabiconi, le beau mec (qui adore, fatalement ?, rouler les mécaniques en présence de Mademoiselle Agnès, voir ci-dessus...), créature de Karl Lagerfeld on va dire, qui entretient, mais il faut tout à fait lui en savoir gré (apparemment !), son propre compte très personnel sur Twitter. Baptiste alors, à Vienne, en Autriche, sur Twitter, que fait-il ? Il remercie tous ces "journalistes allemands et européens", bien sûr, de le "présentez (on ne va pas s'arrêter là-dessus, ce serait injuste ...) comme l'ambassadeur de la France" bla bla bla. Allez, allons, tous ces journalistes allemands, à Vienne, ne seraient-ils pas plutôt autrichiens ? Au fond je m'en fous bien entendu, et même, l'événement pour lequel on l'a fait venir, je m'en désintéresse plutôt - mais est-ce que cela ne nous rappellerait pas plutôt le célèbre cas de la tragique Whitney Houston qui, un jour, lors de l'ouverture d'un concert à Lisbonne, Portugal, a salué son public en émettant un chaleureux HELLO, SPAIN! Si je peux vous assurer une chose, c'est que Whitney, au Portugal, après, ç'a s'est pas super bien passé. En ce qui concerne Baptiste, l'Autriche va sûrement lui pardonner son petit lapsus. On n'est pas aussi implacables que les Allemands, après tout ...
