... some time ago I took a walk in the rather charming Carinthian (that's a region in the South of Austria, would you have guessed?) village Millstatt, which is all the more charming since it sits on the shore of a beautiful lake. Accidentally I came across this example of public art, a phone box where the actual telephone appears to be drowning in a surface of aquamarine water which drips down from a basin. All in all the "Reminiscence of a phone call that never took place" by Markus Hofer is a feast for the eye. So is, if I may add, Millstatt's indoor swimming pool - a hidden treasure that catapults you straight back to the early 60s or late 50s (did I hear about plans to remodel the building? don't you dare, people of Millstatt) ...
... l'autre jour je me suis retrouvé à Millstatt, un beau village carinthien, et en traversant le village à pied j'ai remarqué cet exemple d'art public intitulé "Souvenir d'un appel qui n'a jamais eu lieu" par Markus Hofer, créé en 2008. Pas mal, hein (même s'il y a peut-être un tout petit peu trop de symbolisme là-dedans, mais bon). Cela fait toujours du bien de tomber sur des œuvres surprenantes, belles à voir. Beau à voir, si j'ose dire, c'est aussi la piscine couverte de Millstatt, un trésor des années 50 ou 60 - adorable, et j'espère que la façade va rester intacte lors du réaménagement de la piscine prévue pour un futur prochain ...
