Mel Ramos... now, this is another blog post that I've had in mind for quite some time. And for the simple reason that - throughout the year! - I came across images that bear witness to the omnipresence of the legendary figure that is Superman, even (especially?) in contemporary art. ... apart from Mel Ramos' very reduced Superman painting that I saw in San Francisco's De Young museum, I was impressed by Sener Ozmen's "Super Muslim" that was on display at ViennaFair in spring ... mis à part la toile aussi simple qu'impressionnante de Mel Ramos, qui a donné sa version de Superman laquelle peut être contemplée dans le musée De Young à San Francisco, j'ai beaucoup aimé le travail intitulé "Super Muslim", crée par Sener Ozmen en 2003, qui a fait partie de l'édition 2011 du salon ViennaFair ...

... and then of course, in Helsinki, I saw Ditte Haarløv Johnsen's "Superman", an image that belongs to her Maputo photo diary (stunning!), which was part of the ARS 11 festival in Helsinki's contemporary art museum Kiasma, entirely dedicated to African contemporary art ... et puis, à Helsinki, dans le cadre du festival ARS 11 du musée d'art contemporain Kiasma, j'ai vu cette photo appartenant au journal photographique de Ditte Haarløv Johnsen, qui nous livre ses impressions très personnelles cueillies à Maputo, au Mozambique ...
