... I first encountered the collective of four graphic artists that call themselves UN DEMI when I attended the independent magazine fair ZINE*FAIR curated by Rita Vitorelli and Cathérine Hug last autumn. 1/2 was there, represented by Vienna-based Chloé Thomas, with their beautifully made magazine. Great was my joy when I realised that they had an exhibition at the INSTITUT FRANÇAIS DE VIENNE (which closed, I'm very sorry to say, yesterday !!!). I went there and was lucky enough to be guided through the exhibition by Chloé herself, who told me about her work together with her fellow students Laure Boer, Anne-Pauline Mabire and Lucie Pindat. They met in Paris when they all studied graphic design, today they live all over Europe, in Vienna, Amsterdam, Berlin and Rennes, and the multi-faceted and very ambitious project Un Demi is what holds them together. ... la première fois que j'ai rencontré le travail du collectif d'artistes/graphistes UN DEMI, c'était lors de la foire ZINE*FAIR organisée par Rita Vitorelli et Cathérine Hug en automne 2010 à Vienne. Le magazine 1/2 était là, (re)présenté par Chloé Thomas qui vit et travaille à Vienne. J'ai bien aimé le magazine, et j'ai par conséquent été très content de voir qu'il y avait (jusqu'au trois mars, j'écris donc TROP TARD pour que vous puissiez la voir) un exposition intitulée BEYOND THE OTHER SIDE à l'Institut français de Vienne. Qui plus est, j'avais de la chance et Chloé m'a personnellement montré les travaux qu'on pouvait y admirer, et je trouve tout à fait impressionnant et le côté esthétique d'UN DEMI, et le fait que les quatre jeunes filles, avec Chloé il s'agit de Laure Boer, Anne-Pauline Mabire et Lucie Pindat, qui se sont rencontrées pendant leurs études à Paris, continuent avec ce beau projet maintenant qu'elles vivent à travers toute l'Europe, à Vienne, à Rennes, à Amsterdam, et à Berlin. ... è stato nel contesto della fiera ZINE*FAIR (organizzata da Rita Vitorelli et Cathérine Hug nell'autunno scorso) che ho per la prima vista i lavori del collettivo UN DEMI, che comprende le quattro artisti/grafiche Chloé Thomas, Laure Boer, Anne-Pauline Mabire, Lucie Pindat. Mi è piaciuto quello che vi ho visto, e sono dunque stato molto contento quando ho visto che c'era una mostra all'Instituto francese di Vienna (che si è chiusa ieri, scrivo troppo tardi infatti...), intitolata BEYOND THE OTHER SIDE. Sono stato fortunato perché Chloé, che vive a Vienna, mi ha mostrato personalmente la mostra, e ne sono rimasto impressionato, sia per la qualità dei lavori, sia per il fatto che le quattro ragazze continuano con questo progetto ora che, dopo essersi incontrate in facoltà a Parigi, vivono attraverso tutta l'Europa, chi a Vienna, chi a Berlino, a Amsterdam o a Rennes.
