... no, this is neither about Thackeray's novel nor any kind of print magazine, I'm still referring to the vanity motif in art - more importantly so: THE SKULL.

For this contribution to the weekly DOPPELGANGERS section I chose to, uhm, "juxtapose" three skulls - two of them by artists, one a design object created for the purpose of shop decoration. Amazing to see how boundaries between art, design, fashion and interior decoration become blurred where it comes to using skulls and bones...

... when the interview for which I had met lovely Anne Valérie Hash came out, my boyfriend told me that he found her a striking resemblance with American actress Kathy Najimy (think Sister Act and Hocus Pocus).

Well, after checking available image material - I must say, I can only agree. It's a clear-cut case for my ever so popular DOPPELGANGERS section (and down to the last accessory, apparently...) - or what do you think? ...

... when I was looking around and trying to figure out who to use for my next doppelganger posting, it did surprise me that the first person I thought of when I came across this image of Priscilla Presley was, well, her late husband Elvis. I mean, what a tragedy - this has got nothing to do with the people who try to turn themselves into cats or Barbies using plastic surgery, this woman obviously interiorized her grief and sorrow and is now, in a somewhat creepy manner, gradually turning into the man she used to love.

Alternative theory: is Priscilla of 2010 in fact Elvis? Are all the rumours about him being alive still actually and incredibly true?

But whatever happened to Baby Priscilla, then...

... even though someone already complained about the frequency of these animated thingies, I think fabricating them is about to turn into my favourite springtime occupation (and a good way of escaping pollen).
